I want to make a cabinet on wheels where the desk part can be safely moved from the top of the cabinet to the bottom with a reasonably heavy object resting on it. So it would be a height adjustable cabinet.

Can anyone suggest how I'd go about making something like this?

Perhaps something like a dumb waiter might work?

BTW
I have seen gas lift desks but their height ranges are too limited.
