We are building a small cabin for recreation. I want to make a very small 3/4 bath (shower no tub). I'm trying to make it take up a very small area but still be fully functional (no frills just function). What is the smallest square ft space I need for shower stall, toilet, and sink?
Thanks so much for any suggestions.

Hi intownfarm,

Usually, the study of the sq ft of the bathroom doesn't help with the problems and solutions. Just keep in mind the following points
- Permits and local codes--> if you need a permit to build your cabin, then you'll be required to follow the minimum dimensions of the local Building Code
- The distances between the fixtures are more important than the total sq ft--> For the toilet, for example --> the center of the toilet must be 15” from walls and tubs and a 21” clearance in front
- Some details make a big difference
--> Door--> you can minimize the necessary space opening the door out of the bathroom or using a pocket door
--> Shower--> a quarter circle rounded shower enclosure may help to organize / minimize the space

The NKBA website has a complete guide with or without access, with lots of info regarding the dostances, fixtures' placement, etc
