I need to clean out my stainless steel chimney liner from the bottom up because I can't get to it from the top (roof too slanted, chimney too high).
I tried inserting the brush from the bottom but the angle is such that I can't get the first rod in. I've read about using flexible rods; they're more expensive and I don't want to make the investment if it's not going to work. Has anyone had this (angle) problem and found a good solution?
I also found a "Gardus #RCH205 SootEater Chimney System" that is much less expensive, but the "flexible rods" in the pictures for this product don't look very flexible. Anyone familiar with this?

Update: I found another site with a different picture of a SootEater rotary chimney cleaning system, which shows a very flexible rod, bent in a U shape. The whole system (including 6 rods) is about $70 - a lot cheaper than the flexible rods I found selling individually on other sites for about $20 a piece.
It's got a whip-like brush and the whole thing attaches to a drill, which spins it around and "whips" out the creosote. Or at least that's what it says. Has anyone used this SootEater rotary chimney cleaning system? Does it really work?
