SL150 / vista 20se programed unit to call cell on alarm.
Calls 8 times then goes into comm failure. I am sure this is because it does not get feedback signal. Is there a quick reset for comm failure without a power down? Is there a way to send feed back with cell phone? I know it has pager function for reports but am not using them or want them unless it will help the comm failure. Also can you recommend a board to replace this one or add on that would send email - not interested in a monitor service - thanks.

Yes, use the pager function setup. There is no practical way to send the "kiss-off" tones that the system is looking for from a cell phone.
The only quick way to clear the comm failure is to erase the phone number(s) from *41 and *42 (making it a local system), or for it to sucessfully complete a communication.
Switching to the pager configuration will clear the comm failure.

Thanks Ron,
I thought I had to have 42 for the page to work. So there is a way to have a pager no. and not get a comm fault? I set up 42 with cell no. and deleted 41. Also set field 49 to 6. Is there something else I need to do. First time at this and the install manual is very weak on page setup.

You have to have the format set for contact ID (*48 should be 7).
If you have all of those things set as described, then there should be no comm failure display (Pager does not look for a confirmation, and only calls once (if you answer).
Basically you are trying to "brute force" the panel into doing something it was never designed to do.

I checked and 48 is set to 7. The bear is now bitting me.
Thanks - any other suggestions?
Should I clear 43 and 94 or do they matter?
