I have a small sears craftsman air compressor that runs great, it just won't build up air presser in tank, hope someone can help. Thanks CW

Welcome to the forums! Can you furnish us with the model number of the compressor and whether or not it is an oil less or oiled compressor? Have you checked the unloader? It is a little valve looking thing with a ball bearing on the top, held in with a compression looking fitting with a hole slightly smaller than the ball bearing. Usually this ball bearing is supposed to center itself in that hole when pressure begins to build. Sometimes not. As the compressor is running can you tell where the air is leaking from, if at all? If it is not leaking at a joint or valve connection, you may have a bad compressor ring, which is a little more expensive than an auxillary part.

If it's belt driven, the belt could be slipping, don't ask me how I know :wall: :eek: :wall:
