So we recently moved into our new home only to find out that ADT (previous owner's monitoring company) had disabled the dialer on my Vista 10se. I've got Ademco 6120 keypads (3). I'd like to either get my existing dialer enabled OR am willing to replace the console with a new one. Anyone have any suggestions on how to enable the dialer? Or which system I should purchase where I can just transfer the wires right over to a new console? Will I have to buy and alpha keypad if I get a new console?

Any advice or help is GREATLY appreciated.

I'm guessing that those are 6128 keypads.

If they used the remote software do shutdown the system, only their copy of the software can reset it. It's junk.

Get yourself an Vista 20p or 15p with a 6260 keypad (you have to have at least one to program), and just swap the thing out.

The motherboard will probably fit the mounts in the existing cabinet.

Can I continue to use all the other components without having to replace them if I go with the vista 20p (i.e. motion detector, door contacts, window contacts)?

How easy is it to program the zones?

Thanks again for your help!

All of the components other than the main control are standard Honeywell/Ademco compatible alarm parts. There's nothing special about them.

Read through the forum posts concerning Ademco Vista panels. The programming is pretty straight-forward once you have a programming keypad.

So I've ordered a 20p and a 6160 keypad. I have 2 other 6128 keypads that were wired into my old system. Can I use my 2 other 6128s with the 20P and program with the 6160?

Also, if I want to add a wireless keyfob what components do I need to buy as addons? Thank you very much again...:)

Yes, the 6128 keypads are compatible with current models.

If you want wireless, you need a wireless receiver.
