I have a 40,000 BTU propane Dearborn space heater bought in 1979. I have cleaned it every year following the instructions that came with the heater.
The pilot flame is entirely blue and the right size.
But when I turn on the burners, the flames are really tall and bright yellow. The flames reach up into the louvers causing a black soot to form on the louvers.
Is there an adjustment that needs to be made or a part that needs to be replaced?
