Hi - I used a paintable white silicone caulk in my guest bathroom and it has since yellowed and I don't understand why. I'm about to re-caulk my kitchen and repaint and would like a suggestion as to the best caulk to use. This is for the baseboard to the wall. Will be using a Duron eggshell on the walls and a semi-gloss on the trim. Thanks

A lot of the cheaper latex caulks will yellow if left unpainted. The best commonly found latex caulk will be a siliconized acrylic latex. I prefer the white lightning brand but there are others which will also do a decent job.
If the caulking hasn't cracked or seperated, it should be fine to leave it and paint over it.

If you fear discoloration of caulk bleeding through paint, use a primer/sealer over caulk before painting.
