I recently purchased a new home that had a Vista 15PMT/20PMT control box and Ademco 6150RF keypad.

After going through user, installation, and programming manuals and reading the forums here, I was able to recover the installer code, set a new master, and a couple additional customizations (delays, etc.). Bravo to everyone here for the great help! :)

However, the one thing I've been unable to do is eliminate the system's capacity to dial out to the Monitronics monitoring station (I am interested in setting up an unmonitored system). While in the programming menu, I am able to access, change, and view every option that I've tried, per the programming manual, EXCEPT the two phone number fields. When attempting to clear the numbers (*41*, *42*) or view the numbers (#41, #42) the keypad returns an EE value, which I assume means entry error. Then, at 6:20 every morning the FC error starts beeping until I turn it off, so it's apparently still trying to test the connection.

One of the stickys mentions that some Ademco models have phone numbers in different slots, but nothing about this setup seems uncommon (15p, 6150). Is it possible that Monitronics may have disabled phone number entry modification?

Thanks for your help!

You can try using the # + [location number] command to view the contents of the programming locations and see if they moved the phone number locations, but if this is a Monotronic branded unit, they may have hard coded the phone numbers into the system.

If so, there's no way to delete them.

Yeah, I began what I guess you could call a "brute force attack" to see if I could find what appeared to be a phone number in any other entries, but I only made it through about fifteen before giving up.

At the risk of showing my relative ignorance here, if the numbers are hard coded, would I have to replace the control panel (or keypad), or is there any way to flash the box with new firmware?

The keypad(s) is fine, you would simply replace the main control board.
