I am having difficulties programming the date and time. I am following the exact instructions that the book is telling me to but its still not working.
Press [6][Master Code]
Press [1] - Time and Date
But when i type in the time it doesnt seem to be accepting the inputs. When the system goes idle the clock is still wrong. If anybody can help me out that would be great.

That's because the keypad clock display has it's own programming sequence with this particular keypad. If you don't have the installer manuals for the 5501z keypad, try this link:

I have the hard copy manual of the link you just posted. It doesnt say how to set the time only how to change the clock options. It says to refer to the Instruction Manual which i have and it tells me to set it the way i have in my first post. :wall:
Clock Options
The LCD5501Z will display the current time after
30 seconds of no key presses. To set the correct
time and date for the system, please refer to
your system’s Instruction Manual. You can
change how the keypad displays the time with
the following options. To change the clock
options:
1. Enter [8][Installer’s code]
2. Enter [000] to go to keypad programming
3. Enter section [6] to go to clock options.
4. To turn any of the options on or off, press [1],
[2], or [3]:
NOTE: If the Time does not display on keypad
option is selected, make sure that the Keypad
displays time when zones are open option is also
selected.
[1] ON = Time displays on keypad
OFF = Time does not display on
keypad
[2] ON = Clock display is in AM/PM format
(e.g. 08:00 AM)
OFF = Clock display is in 24-hour
format
(e.g. 20:00)
[3] ON = Keypad does not display time
when zones are open
OFF = Keypad displays time when
zones are open
5. When you are finished programming the clock
options, press [#] to exit.

How about this from the PC1555 user manual:
"Setting the System Date and Time
To set the system time, enter [6] followed by the Master Code. Press [1]. The keypad will now accept
10 consecutive digits:
• Enter the Time in Hours and Minutes using the 24-Hour format (00:00 to 23:59).
• Enter the Date in Months, Days and Years (MM DD YY)."
If you have been skipping the date part, the sequence never completes. And you are using the _master_ code and not the _installer_ code?

Yes i am using the Master Code and not the installer Code. I did a hard reset, by shorting PGM1 and Z1(if im not mistaken, it was a few weeks ago) and applying power. I followed the steps you laid out in another post to disable TLM and the dialer and to program the master code.
go to program: *8 + [installer code]
turn off TLM: 015 then press 7 to turn off option 7 (the 7 LED will turn off)
press #
turn off dialer: 380 then press 1 to turn off option 1
press #
change master code: 007 then enter new 4 digit master code.
press # until you are out of programming.
