Recently I had noticed that Zone 3 was not working properly. When a window is opened the keypad presents a double beep sound and continues every 10-seconds until a keypad button is depressed.

BTW, there have been no changes to wiring, nothing added recently nor programmed, etc. The DSC 632 (MX1555) system had been working fine for the past 4-years.

Anyway, I swapped Zone 3 with Zone 4 and the problem follows the wiring. So, I put the Zones back to their respective positions and proceeded to then change the EOL resistor on Zone 3 with the same identical type. Problem still occurs. When a window is opened the keypad presents a double beep sound and continues every 10-seconds until a keypad button is depressed.

I then checked all 5-windows in Zone 3 and found nothing visually wrong with the magnet contacts or the sensors that are recessed inside the window.

Is it possible that a window sensor is defective?

Yup, they are just teeny little magnetic reed switches. It sounds like this one is opening and closing at random when the magnet is out of range.

The laws of thermodynamics never sleep.
Replace the contact, and it should solve the problem
