I used to have a DSC1500 system but the mother broad is damaged due to lightening. I brought a new ADEMCO 4110XMP system from a guy who is supposed to install it for me. But he is too busy and told me I can install it myself. Since I know nothing about alarm system. I do not know where to start. How easy it is to install this alarm system? I need help!
Thanks
James

I hate to break it to you, but the Ademco 4110xmp was new in 1993 or thereabouts. It's been out of production since about 1995 or 1996.

If this is someones back stock, and it's in new condition, knock yourself out, but this was a pretty limited system when it was new.

That said:

Since you have existing wiring, you will basically be swapping wire for wire. You will _have_ to install the zone resistors, there is no option to turn this off. Simply mark your wires using wire markers, masking tape, or the like, and swap everything point for point.

_Read_the_manual_. You cannot guess at this stuff, alarm systems are _not_ intuitive designs.

Thanks. I purchased this for $50 from a guy who installed the alarm for my company. I already marked all the wires one by one. The only problem is the 6 resistors. I guess I will connect 1 each with the wires that connected to the 6 zones. Right?
Thanks
James

Yes, one resistor per zone in series with the circuit.
