I just moved into a home that had been vacant for about 3 months. The water heater A.O. Smith FPCR had been shut off completely. A plumber ignited the gas powered unit yesterday. All appeared normal despite the loud blower, as the unit is a equipped vented model. The issue is that its been nearly 24 hours and the blower is still on and noisy. Should I be concerned? The water heater is around 4-5 years old. There is a on/off switch in the blower mechanism. Its a 50 gallon capicity unit.

if the main burner is off then the ID should also not be running...the sequence is unit stat calls....the ID comes on the pilot sparks lights up....proofs out ....the main gas comes on.relay for it must be locked closed..shut the power off for now.when you use or shower turn the switch back on to replenish the used water, then shut it off till you can get somebody in to check the relay for the ID ID/induced draft motor
