I have a Vista 20P and when I try to arm the system in AWAY mode, it arms in STAY mode. When I try to arm in MAX mode, it arms in INSTANT mode. During the exit countdown, the keypad (6160) shows the desired arm mode (AWAY or MAX), but after it arms shows different modes.
I have removed all the wires and placed resistors from zones 1 ~ 8, I also reset all the values to default *97, but I still have the same problem. Any clues ?:wall:
Thanks

If you arm it in away and you open than close your entry/exit
door it will finish arming in away. Since you did not leave your
house, it thinks you made a mistake by arming your motion
detectors. I forgot the location, but you can disable that
feature in programming.

That is the auto-stay feature. It's an anti-false alarm feature.
On this model, it _can_ be turned off in programming, but since you now know that you have to open and close an entry/exit door (which you would normally do in the real world), you don't have to.

Vector18,
You're right, I arm the system for AWAY, I trip the Exit/Entry sensor and it arms AWAY, it works fine. Beer 4U2
MrRonFL,
I was wondering how to turn off the auto-stay feature. I guess if the Exit/Entry door contact gets broken and then bypassed by twisting the wires (tempered), then the inside motion detectors would not be of any help.
Thanks guys for the help, it was driving me :madhell:

If you put a 0 in *84, you won't have to open and close
the entry exit zone.
