So, I've heard of green flooring materials like cork and bamboo, but have you guys heard of peach pit floors as a new green flooring type??? I saw a website on a flooring site that was talking about it. Pretty funny stuff. I wonder if it's as any good as the other ones...

Ditto. Post manufacturer and structural and finish warranty. Is this product marketed through a major USA manufactuer and backed up with a USA warranty? If comparing apples to apples with a USA manufacturer, how does it compare? Construction, quality, warranty, price? In the flooring industry, you get what you pay for.

this is the article that I read: http://www.findanyfloor.com/article/APeachyKeenFlooringAlternative.xhtml
I think the site it was talking about was stonefruitfloors.com
I can see this type of flooring in restaurants...not so sure about homes.

If flooring is used commercially, it should stand up to every day use in a home. There is no mention of VOC content of adhesive or resin used. Although the concept of using peach pits as a renewable resource is thinking green, adhesives and resins could contain volatile organic compounds that could off gas. Similarly, bamboo is a grass and is a renewable resource and touted to be green, but many manufacturers use adhesives and finishes that contain formaldehyde and other toxic compounds.

Hi,
My husband and I have 2 large Golden Doodles and we want to replace our carpet with wood flooring. My question is which holds up better, bamboo or cork when it comes to animals and their claws? My husband wants to use laminate wood but I am trying to convince him to use an eco-friendly product. Any advice would be helpful.
