i have a kenmore oven,self cleaning,large capacity stovetop
burner work but oven not working, electric igniter clicks on and gas burns a few second then shut off and repeats again then goes dead can't find model number on it at least 6-8 yrs old

Hello jasant. Welcome to the Gas Appliances topic.
Most common cause is a dirty pilot flame. Which creates a weak flame not hot enough to keep safety element hot.
One Possible Solution. Clean pilot spark assembly using a can of computer keyboard compressed air cleaner. Blow out all dust in the pilot assembly from every angle possible to access. Retry. Likely to solve the problem...:thumbup:
Second possible solution when first fails....:( Replace the safety element bulb and tube, which is the part the pilot flame heats. Usually that element is above the pilot flame. But may be slightly below pilot flame, etc. on some models and types of safeties. Variations apply.
