Every once in a while, I see this bug in my house. It is about as big as a cricket, it can jump fairly high, but its sort of a light-ish brown color. I can never catch them since they jump around too much. I'm wondering if they're harmful or not, since there's probably a few of them in my house.

Possibly a camel cricket?

I once had an invasion of camel crickets in house in which I lived. At that point in time, I was more flush with cash and could hire an exterminator. A monthly residual insecticide treatment on foundation and along perimeter kept most insects and predators at bay.
Nowadays due to loss of economic resources, I buy a big jug of an exterior insectide from Southern States that I apply around window frames, on foundation and any gaps or seams anywhere on the exterior. It has made a world of difference. Because the jug says it can be applied inside, I spray my mountain cabin's interior window frames, sliding glass door thresholds, and main entry threshold, and baseboards with this insecticide. Spiders, Asian lady beetles, and other pests tend to be at a minimum. I use the same product for my condo in the city. It kills spiders, sow bugs and any other insect pest that would dare enter the only sliding glass door and the main entry.
You can hire a pro. If savvy and trying to cut back economically, you can DIY. Just make sure that your thresholds and windows properly seal when closed. Seal around all entries around pipes and wires that enter the home. Inspect foundation carefully and seal all gaps.
