Hi, our GE Glass Top Stove/Oven stopped working after a power outage today. The burners and the oven light still work, but the digital display (clock, timer, etc.) on the back of the stove doesn't work, along with the entire oven controls. So, we have a working stove and a non-functional oven.
My guess: the circuit board on the oven (behind the digital display) probably went bad due to the power outage.
I'm heading to the appliance/hardware store tomorrow to see if I can figure out more...but I figured I'd stop by here and post for this repair.
Thanks!
J

Along with power outages come voltage surges which can "fry" electronic things. So yes something electronic is probably toasted.
Some circuit boards have fuses on them. Might want to take a peek and see. Also look for components on the circuit board which are discolored.
The best way to protect from this is to get a whole house surge protector which is installed at the main electric panel.

Have you already tried to turn off the circuit breaker to the stove, and then back on in a bit, to see if it resets itself?
