I have a DSC 1832 panel with one PK5500 keypad and 2 PK5501 keypads. I have read the installer's and reference manuals several times but am still confused regarding 2 issues:
1. How can 2 zones (zones 1 and 2) be configured for entry and exit delay while the others are instant alarm on entry? Right now it appears that zone 1 has both an entry and exit delay; zone 2 has an exit delay but instant alarms on entry.
2. How can the system be configured for instant arming with no delay (stay armed mode?) but still have the exit delay for zones 1 and 2 unaffected? Do you always have to wait for the exit delay when you arm the system and do not intend to leave?
I am familiar with electronics and the system is working (basic) programming done) but it would be nice if I could get these two issues resolved.

First read through the section of your installer manual titled "How to Program".
See the following thread, it has an example of the programming syntax for DSC power series panels (it's an older model, but uses the same programming model as yours):
