I'd like to replace the range hood filter in my kitchen. The hood is probably ~50 years old and works fine, but the standard sizes of filters today are way too small for me.

I need a 20" x 11 15/32(probably 11 1/2") x 3/8" steel mesh filter. The home stores only had filters for the hoods they sell.

Any ideas on what to do?

Get yourself 2 $20 bills and go to the store and buy a new one, complete with new filters

HAH!

I had no idea that they were so cheap.

I think a read some glossy kitchen and bath magazine a few years back and there were hoods with sculpted glass and stainless in the 1000s!
