Having to replace the muffler on a 1973 Ariens snowblower, not surprisingly, both bolts broke, leaving only about 1/8" showing.
Tried heating with oxy-accetalyne, tried the "candle" trick.
Can't get a good grip on either with vise grips. Any other ideas?

When all else fails, I just grind them off flat, center punch and drill out. If I can't clean out the old bolt and chase the threads, I just drill out and install a thread repair insert, such as a Heli-Coil.

Another option is ear muffs....:)
