I started taking apart my Maytag Neptune to change the bearings and discovered that the end of the spacer tube was shaped into a shark-tooth pattern by the broken bearing. I'm supposed to re-use this part because it's not in the bearing kit, so now I'm not sure what to do because I can't find this anywhere, and I don't know the correct length to make one myself. Does anyone know the exact length of this spacer tube that goes between the bearings, so I can make one from PVC pipe? Would that work?
