Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, but is there any building codes that may restrict venting a bath fan near a gas meter? I'm in the Chicago area.

There very well may be, not specifically the meter but if there is a regulator next to the meter. I would recommend making a call to the gas company or local AHJ and finding out from them.

I did call the gas company and they said 3 ft from the meter, and then specifically 3 ft from the vent or regulator. The basement window is just under 3 ft from the vent, so I'm not sure how they got away with that, but thanks for the suggestion.
