Is it OK to run a condensing furnace 3" pvc exhaust pipe up the existing flue using the 6 x 10 flue as a chase? The intake would come from another pipe vented to the outside front of the house. The contractors easy way is thru a brick wall then 25' across my garage out the back wall. I would rather not have two 3" pipes running along the wall then sticking out the back. I'm trying to come up with some other options.

Is this old chimney being used for anything else? (water heater, or another furnace)
If nothing is being used, then you can use the old chimney as a chase, and they can cap off the top to support the PVC.
