I have a broken spindel going up my front foyer stair case...how do I go about repairing the spindel?
Also have several others that are loose...how can I tighten? (secondary concern)

Ideally, finding one that matches is the best thing, but that can be hard. Coffman has been making stair parts for well over 100 yrs. They should have one to match. If a match cannot be found, I sometimes pin the two pieces together with a nail with the head cut off, and glue. A finish nail(#4-predrilled) thru the top of the spindle will usually fix loose ones.
