I just joined the forum, and the first thing I did was use the search function on Duron Paints. I really didn't come up with any info, so I thought I'd ask. I know people like SWP, and after a quick google search, it appears SWP bought Duron. So is this the bottom of the SWP line, or is it just as good? I also read on here about using a mid grade SWP, does this include the Classic 99?

Thanks in advance...

Welcome to the forums!

I've not used a lot of Duron's coatings. Most of what I've used was their cheaper line when I was an employee on a job that specified duron. I've heard their top of the line coatings are good but I have no first hand experience with them.

Classic 99 used to be SWP's top of the line interior paint but now superpaint and duration are a lot better. Classic 99 is still good paint and I wouldn't have any qualms about using it - it just isn't as good as the newer, better lines of paint.

I am fairly certain Duron carries a full line of paints. I don't believe they are a "bargain" line or anything.

For me, Classic99 is something I use on my ceilings. If I was getting ready to sell, I would probably use it on my walls too, but for a job you want to last a long time, stick with Duration or Superpaint. (I personally use SuperPaint.)

An alternative to the Classic99 is the ProMar 200 from SW's contractor line.
