Hi Guys

We moved into a new house and have a Caloric Self Cleaning Oven - the gas stove seems to work fine other than 2 hobs need a external lighter to get turned on..
Anyways i have tried various options..like turning the oven mode to Bake and putting the temperature to say 400 degress but the oven doesnt want to heat up..however there is gas smell everywhere once we do that...
HELP PLEASE..how do we turn the oven ON?

Hello ramananeja and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and to the Gas Appliances topic.

In order to best offer help and advice, we would need to know a model number and type of ignition system used for that appliance.

Does the appliance have constant burning pilot flames??? to the top burners??? (Hobs)

Or an electronic sparking ignition system??? at the hobs?

How about the ignition system used for the oven???

Spark Ignition or a hot surface (HSI) glow igniter???

Retail parts dealers and appliances parts stores can also help determine what the possible problem may be based upon that specific brand and model. Bring the make, model and serial numbers. Dealers and appliances parts stores are listed in the phone book.

Cautionary Reminder Note:
Before attempting any repairs, be sure to unplug the appliance from the wall receptacle power source first.
