I have a kenmore .767*****

Im getting initial flame and heat up but soon stops after it reaches a high temp..

I took off the back panel and popped the clips in the back that hold the top on tight,, I expected the top to tip forward and broig the front panel along with it but this was not the case.

When I peer down at the drum and the inside of the front panel it is obvious this front is joined to the side via sheet metal screws and not meant to til forward like I assumed..

How Do i get to the bottom of this dryer to access the coils which I assume is on top of the gas valve?

it would help if you would post the FULL model number so we can look it up.

model 110.76742500

I believe i am suppose to remove the valve from the back of the unit now.. But i am still confused on how to do this.. I detached the bracket that holds the pipe/valve in place but am confused on how to get it loose.

Here is how you get to the gas valves. do not get in from back.
UNPLUG DRYER FIRST

Take out lint screen and remove 2 screws there. Take a stiff putty knife and slide it between the top and front panel near the side and pry up on each side. Top will pop off clips holding down.(may have to use a little force) lift top up and lean back. look inside at front panel and find 2 screws holding on (near top on sides) pull up on front panel and will come off. Careful of wires to door unplug wires or just put it to the side. Hope this helps

Make sure your drive belt is on straight.
Check your front & rear bearings ( the felt or leathery things the drum rides on ) Check for small objects that may be imbedded in bearings ( pieces of buttons-zippers, etc. )
Spray WD-40 on a rag & wipe down the bearings ( don't get carried away w/ this-we don't want a fire- do we ) Reassemble unit--see if noise stops...................

I saw your great posts - I have the same problem. No heat. I bought the coil pair and followed your instructions to tilt up the top panel and remove the control panel - but I'm stuck! Where are those two colis EXACTLY? I can't locate them!

To be complete, I have a Kenmore Series 70 Model 76712693 76712, S/N MG4008205. I bought the coil pair yesterday after reading many posts and blogs about this situation. Now I have the unit apart as described in THIS post but still can't seem to find where these coils are hiding.

I feel like a dope - everyone here seems to have had no trouble finding them. I even took off the back - nothing. I'm sure they're right in front of me but I'm stuck.

Thanks
