Tex-
Suggest you leave all windows wide open during all seasons and leave shower running for at least 30-50 years; allow for wild-life and fungus to take residense, and zone for use of heavy equipment.
Are you kidding or are you going for frightening Halloween effect?

Interesting texture. That was done intentionally and is not what jantz is suggesting???

Looks like a LOT of work to duplicate.

I would assume to duplicate something like that you would need to apply some type of contaminate [maybe oil/grease] and then apply water soluable products over it. Maybe add some heat to make it dry too fast.

All purpose Joint compound and a heat gun. Have a 3 year old do it.

Are you saying someone did that as an intentional wall finish? To me, that looks like a real damaged wall in an OLD abandoned house. My grandparents had some walls that kinda looked like that in their circa 1700's 20 room home on an historic stagecoach route between Boston and Providence.
