Tonight i have gone in to the spare room and every dark object ie the playstation tv and storage units which are all black have these bugs crawling on them i have again hoovered but they keep coming back i have no pets or plants what could they be and can i get rid of them ps the rest of my home is cream which really helps they are probably everywhere:eek: many thanks for reading

you will have to do some detective work to find out where they are coming from, if you post some photos here we might be able to help identify them, most likely they are feeding on something like carpets or backing, or insulation, or paper won't know for sure until they are identified.

life begins when the kids leave home and the dog dies.

Hi Do-nut,

I suspect you are in the UK. The soap that is used for spider mites that get on plants, and other plant bugs, is a detergent free soap. I think you would call it washing up soap in the UK. I can't see spraying your entire house with a soap and water mixture. I think you need to id your critters first. Generally mites are so small you can barely see them. Can you take a picture or do you know what they are called? Maybe you are seeing some type of bed bug?

Do you harbor rodents or reptiles as pets? Do you grow exotic plants?

" where i first saw them has a ventilation grid they might coming from there as the spare room has one too the only problem is that i have been here for eighteen months and never spotted anything now i can see them everywhere." Have you inspected your attic for invasion by rodents, reptiles, birds, bats, etc.?

More info needs to be available for layman ID. You can collect samples and take to a local exterminator, agricultural authority, etc. for identification. You can hire an exterminator. Without proper identification and elimination of source, you will have no peace of mind.
