I have a Maytag washer - MAV-4 Oversized capacity plus. When you set the control to cold water wash it does not fill. The only control setting that does work is "hot-cold" . Since the cold water risnse on this setting does work, the problem is not that the cold water is not getting in to the machine.

most cold water problems are the fill valve. If you have a front loader have run into problem where you have to replaced fill valve and control board.. Pls give model # and can help better.
