I have a GE XL44 sealed burner stove. Whenever any burner is turned on to the ignite position the ignitors spark fine but there is a 30 second or longer delay before gas comes out. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello needhelp75. Welcome to the Gas Appliances topic and the Do-It-Yourself Web Site.

You're in luck... You live in California.

Every natural gas supplier has in home service for most minor repairs and adjustments. Most likely an adjustment to the burners air and/or fuel supply is all that is needed.

Contact the natural gas supplier and request service. Phone number on the back of the monthly gas bill. Same likely to apply for propane gas, if that fuel is what is used.

Most likely cause for the problem described is an adjustment to the fuel supply and or an air shutter adjustment. However, some models do not have an air shutter adjustment. A service tech will or should know what adjustment is needed. Call gas supplier for service.
