1972 Bryant and Honeywell Thermostat. With new season, it doesn't get to temperature set. Then it starts burners for 10 seconds or runs pilot light with stronger force than usual every couple minutes. If I set it to 88, I can get it to 75 but then it starts doing the previously mentioned things.

Not sure what you mean by this... Is the pilot burning all times, or is there something that ignite it then starts the burners?

So, if you bump the t-stat high, it will stay running the whole time?

The pilot is designed to be on always and the furnace would stop at 75 if set to 88
