Hi to all,
I installed a DSC 832 with a 5500Z keypad several months ago. It worked great until I installed two more keypads ( 5501Z and PK5501). Somewhere along the way my fat fingures must have done something.
Here is my problem. The 5500Z keypad now displays the date and time, as before, but I can no longer hold the stay or away buttons and activate the alarm AND I no longer can push *8 to enter programming mode. I must now enter * and it then prompts to "Press * for <> system", then I enter * again and it says "Selecting System". At this point I can push the stay or away buttons or I can enter *8 and enter the programming mode.
I would like to return it to the orginal state, where I can set the alarm or go right into the programming mode.
I have searched every site that I can find and looked at, and set and reset every option that I can find.
Any help would be appreciated, while I still have any hair.
Thanks,
Tom

You most likely set the keypads as "global" (which doesn't mean what most people think it means...) by addressing them as 01, 02, etc. The correct address is 11, 12, etc.
Go back into keypad programming (000) on each keypad and make sure that they don't have addresses beginning with "0".

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. I would buy you lunch if you lived close.
I still have a hair to two left.
