Hey guys
I need your help.I turn off the shut-off valve on the main gas line and then i realize that main "knut" valve on the furnace is stuck in "ON" position. I'm trying to release that and turn in to a pilot position in order to start the pilot, but it's still stucked.AmI missing something?Does anybody know what is the rigt way to do that? Please I need your help/winter is coming soon.
Thank you

Usually you have to depress that knob to turn it.

Hey, Grady
I depress the "Knob" valve, but it's still stucked. I think the shaft of the valve is stucked. I tried DW40 and light "kicks" with hammer-still nothing.I'll try hair dryer in order to heat and release. Is any safety mechanizm to keep that stucked? Thermocouple is on room/basement temp.
Thanks

Hopefully the WD 40 has not ruined the gas valve. NEVER use any kind of lubricant on a gas valve. I hate to tell you this but I think it's time to call a professional service person. Maybe your gas company.
