What is the best way to reach the top sides of a two story home in order to paint? Do I rent scaffolding or is there an easier way besides hiring a contractor? Can I put something across two fiberglass ladders? Thanks

scaffolding or rent a man lift. the ladders would not be very safe.

IMO it is best to do the work off of an extension ladder. There is a lot of work [and expense] in using scaffolding. Transporting, erecting and taking down will take more time than the painting!

You could use to ext ladders with ladder jacks and set a walkboard on the 2 ladder jacks but I almost always use just an extension ladder on the gable ends.

If you are working alone an extension ladder is probably the quickest, easiest and safest way to go. If you have a helper two ladders with ladder jacks and a ladder plank will get the job done in a hurry.

I've rented scaffolding and it took too long to put up and move by myself.
