I have a 1950's Magic Chef gas range model # 33-L P The
flames are very high, I beleive it's supposed to be set up for
propane. The oven orifice is a #56, Front (large) burners are
#68 and the small back burners are #70. Are these the right size orifices? We put the #70 on the oven and the flame looks normal. Where can I get new orifices if needed?

Burner flame size depends upon the BTU rating of the burner size. Each burner then can have a different rating.
Usually, top burner flames sizes range between 8,000 to 12,000 Btu's. The orifice is then sized to match the BTU rating for that specific burner. Same applies to each burner.
Without knowing the burners rated size, difficult to say exactly what the orifice size needs to be. However, on the rating plate will be the BTU rating for each size burner. Refer to that for the specific orifice size needed.
Not sure if the appliance is presently using propane or natural gas. Kindly advise which fuel is presently being used and the appliance is set up to use presently.
Retail parts dealers and appliances parts stores can also help determine what the possible problem may be based upon that specific brand and model. Bring the make, model and serial numbers. Dealers and appliances parts stores are listed in the phone book.
