Hi,
I have Magnavox 60" Rear projection screen TV Model # 6P6030 W101. Just received it from relative. Picture was great on it, but the characters and people on TV would just glow very bright. I read up on this and found my lens had a lot bacteria growing in the coolant. I changed my coolant carefully. I took out each lens one by one, cleaned and changed each one carefully. I put everything back in the way it came out, marked all my wires where there should go back. I turned on the TV, the glow is gone, pictured looks 100% better, but everything is 3D?!?:wall: I tried the convergence. The red and blue moves up and down, left and right just fine, but they stop short of being aligned perfect on the cross hair. It's like the lens need to be moved or something?? Please check the link below to look at my pictures.

I so thought I had this and was going to be a great new TV for the family, but it just created another problem. I'm very handy and just need some further help!

 Thank you in advanced!!

Having owned a Magnavox projector in the past I can tell you this, the $75 you spend on a service call will be the best money you can spend on this TV. The tech can fix that in short order, and do all the other adjustments. I played with the convergence on mine for days before giving up. He had it fixed in 30 minutes.
And the difference with new coolant was quite amazing.

OK,for all those who read this post and decide to change the coolant in the crts.Change ONE at a time and get the convergence correct on that one before you do the next one!
1rst step: setting the focus.Cover two of the crts so only one color at a time shows and adjust the lens so its focused as much as it can.The lens is adjusted by loosening the screws on the side of the mount and rotating the lens along the grove up and down until you get as clear a picture as possible. After that find the FOCUS and SCREEN block. The adjustments should be marked.Adjust ONLY the FOCUS for the color your doing until it gets as good as it can.Do this for each color.
2nd step.If you messed with the convergence contols trying to line up the lines. Then you MUST try to set each adjustment in the center of its range the best you can.
3rd step:Measure you screen from top and bottom, side to side.Find the center on all four sides.Use a string or if you have a screen protector use a washable marker and connect your centers so that you have a + sign just like the convergence adjustment does.
4th step: Start with the green crt.If you removed the yoke and DID NOT touch the adjustable rings! Loosen the screw that holds the yoke in place .Pull up the + sign present in the convergence menu. Now rotate the yoke until the + sign aligns with your string or marker. It should get really close if not right on.Use the adjustment for the convergence to get it exactly. Now repeat for the blue and red.It helps to cover the other crts while your adjusting the one color.
5th step: your done!
NOTE:If you played with the rings on the yoke you may be better off calling and getting an estimate on aligning the set because without practice at doing this it can drive you crazy.GI2
