This is my first post and day on this site, so be kind :)
I have a mig welder that I bought years ago, It's a S.A.M. made in canada by controled systems. I'm having a problem with it , it's not feeding the wire. I've tested the motor and it goes fine when powered up checked switch on touch and thats good also
I believe it's in the curcuit board. Now here's the problem I can't find anything on this welder nor the company that made it. I've found welders from this company for sale on a site called kiliji. Any help that you could give me would be of a great help. This welder is in good shape and was working good until it just stopped feeding the wire.
I'm in florida and haven't been able to find anyone willing to work on it yet.
I have the curcuit board out and am wondering if it can be tested out of the welder?
Thanks for your time and any help is wanted

What makes you think the problem is in the control board? You said the motor works when powered up? Does that mean the motor runs when you power it externally (not through the welder)?
If you take the wire out does the wire feed drive wheel turn when you depress the button on the gun?

when I power it up externally it runs fine and moves the wire as it should.
When I press the trigger the only thing that happens is the gas solenoide opens as it should.
I took the handle apart and the two wires ( one for welding wire and 1 for gas ) are both operated of a double switch.tested good
Chase down and tested all voltages of everything there all else seems fine

I'm hoping to find some one thats familar with these welders or who may have a wireing sechmatic, or better yet know where I could send the board to and have it checked out.
To good of a unit to junk

I have the 220volt model with similar problems. There is a company in eastern Canada that still sells parts for these units and only a few years ago had an exchange program for the circuit boards. (A.M.H. du Canada fax # 418-722-6108)

sorry i have never heard of this welder but, i think it is a discontinued welder from canada. did you change the wire insert in the gun this may be some of the trouble. I think that you should try to sell it and buy a lincoln or hobart mig because they can be repaired in the states jsidor2009

while you had the handle assembly apart....did you press the trigger? did it work? sometimes the conactors dont touch after handle is together...i bend the contacts closer sometimes. Also , there could be a short in the wires from gun to machine...did you try pulling the cable straight and rolling the gun around in different positions while squezzing trigger? jim
