Anyone have experience removing pivot pins on tractor loader?
The pivot pin does not seem to move with moderate tapping by hammer with the retaining pin removed. Expect it may be frozen in with dirt and grime. :
Any ideas on removal?
I have an Allmand contractors tractor from 2004 (TBL 225).
Thanks
Mark

Welcome to the forums Mark! - good name :D :p
I don't know how well it relates to your tractor but I replaced the pivot pin and bushing on my 53 ford jubilee [w/manure bucket] - what a job!!
Best I can remember I used a 2lb hammer, heat and a puller. It took me several days [on and off] to remove the pin. I found the pin to be in relatively good shape although about 1/3 of the bushing was missing. Although my front axle is a little tighter after replacing the pivot pin, I'm not sure it was worth the effort.

make sure all retaining bolts are out and use a large drift and sledge hammer, most are frozen in and a bugger to remove.
keep hands and fingers out of the way with some kind of handle welded to the drift. that will help you hold it steady.

Or better yet get someone else to hold the drify while you swing the hammer.http://forum.doityourself.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
