I have a Concord 4 system and have some Honeywell 945T wired magnetic contacts. Can I use the 945T in place of the GE1038 or GE1138 contacts? Are the 945T's within the Concord 4 specs? This is all the info I can find on both.

Honeywell 945T Specifications:
* Switch Type: Form A (SPST) Reed
* Contact Rating: 100ma @ 28VDC

GE1138 Specifications:
Form A
Maximum Current - 0.5 A
Maximum Voltage - 100 VAC/DC
Power (Watts)[Maximum] - 7.5 W

Thanks, Mic

Hardwired contacts are universal. Brand doesn't matter. The only difference is matching your mounting configuration and gap size.

Thanks for the reply MrRon. I wasn't sure what the current was in the concord 4 circuit, but did notice a difference in the contacts current ratings. 945T = 100ma and the GE1138 = 500ma. I know people get into trouble not paying attention to current ratings, like putting a 1000ma siren on a 500ma output circuit. I just want to make sure I don't crash & burn any parts of the system. I see that both contacts are "Form A" but not quite sure how that comes into play? "Form A" = SPST?

Form A is SPST (it's just "old school' terminology). The heavier current ratings are because these contacts are often used for things like door annunciation systems, which do put significant current through the switch.

You just need a normally closed contact. Rating doesn't really matter for this purpose.
