i posted the message yesterday about resetting the ademco alarm - well, I pushed # and * together and set off the fire alarm!
I don't know what i did to get it to stop, but now it's flashing 95 Alarm Fire, 96 Alarm, and 99 alarm!
OH NO!!!!!

Let me guess; you didn't power the system down before you tried the * + # trick, or you hesitated too long before getting to the keypad.
Look in the FAQ for this forum. In the ademco section there is a step by step for how to properly extract your installer code from the system (the power down and * + # will also reset the panic you accidentally tripped). Once extract that, and change all of the settings to turn off the dialer, exit programming with *99.
If you haven't already, websearch using the phrase "Vista 20p installer manual". Do the same for the user manual. Most of the questions you are asking are directly answered in on of those.
