I know this is a total rookie question. I took the screens out of my windows (double hung vinyl) to clean them off. Now I can't get them back in. The window screens are one piece that cover the whole window, they have one side (vertical side on right looking at them from inside) that has two metal (spring) tabs on the top and the bottom (i.e. the spring forces the whole window to the left). The top and the bottom don't have any give at all so its impossible to get the screen in behind the retaining strip. Any suggestions...so frustrating..I'm sure its easy but I'm stumped. Thanks

First, be sure you have the screen right side up. I've found that screens are almost always easier to install from the outside, on a ladder. But if you have to do it from the inside, open both the top and bottom sashes, and slide them to the middle of the window so that you can reach both the top and bottom of the screen. Slide the screen outside, make sure you have it facing the right direction, and put the spring side of the screen in first. Once it's in, compress the screen springs by pushing that side with one hand... while the other hand holds the pull tabs, and pull toward you. Once it's started into the track, you usually have to do the same thing on top, and get the top started. Then maybe switch back to the bottom, and pull the screen in all the way- and then check the top again to see if you can pull it the rest of the way in.
Like I said, it's usually easier to do from the outside- those pull tabs are usually pretty worthless.

Hi, Hold the screen in the right direction. Holding the screen at about 45 Degree insert the corner side with the clips in the side window channel and insert the top of the screen in the top window channel. Now gently turn the screen into the channels. This is harder to describe than do.
