Help! I have an ADT SafeWatch 3000. One of the wireless contracts does not hold its circuit closed ie door shows open when closed. I've replaced the contact and the battery. After resetting the system the control panel shows the door is closed. Later (an hour or so) it shows the door is open. Still closed. I've even jumper the the contact and it still fails after an hour or so. Escrow closes Friday and I don't want another bill. Any suggestions?

Check to make sure that the cover on the transmitter is properly in place, and the tamper switch is firmly made with the cover on.
Turn on the door chime and jiggle the transmitter. If you get a chime, it means something may be looser than you think.
It is possible that this transmitter is simply in a bad location (it happens, especially in an environment full of wireless routers, cordless phones and other RF noise sources).

Thanks for the response.
I removed the power from my wireless router and cordless phone. They are approx six feet from the transmitter in question.
I reset the system and made sure the system was ready to arm. Opened a door to test chime. Closed and opened again. Both times it chimed and identified the opened door.
Tried the same on the questionable door. Chimed the first time I opened the door, not the next.
Reset system and went to transmitter and knocked on it. No problem. Opened door. Chimed. Closed and opened. No chime. Removed cover and got tamper alarm. Removed battery and put it back in. Shut door. Reset system. Tested again. First open, chime. Second open, no chime.
As for possible poor position, this door is the back door to the garage. The garage door also has a transmitter and it does not have any issues.

Missed the reply regarding the steel door and/or frame. Both are wood and its a new contact switch and magnet.

I solved the problem.... And it was of my own making. :o
Short answer: I was connecting an external contact switch that appears to have been interfering with the internal switch. Was looking for a replacement wireless contact and found a sales site selling the switch. Read description that with both built-in magnetic reed switches and wired closed circuit contact loop."
Had removed the magnet a year or so ago to sheet rock garage. Magnet was double stick taped on. Magnet went missing. Saw connection for external switch and hooked one up.
Remembered about magnet when I saw remainder of tape on jam. Tape explains why no screw holes for magnet.
Thanks for the help. The is the best place I've found for help on the web. :D
