I have a living room that requires my couch to be floated. Because of lighting in the room, it needs a table and lamp next to it. How do I attractively handle the wires going to the lamp. There is an outlet 3 ft behind the couch or 2 ft to the right (the lamp needs to go on the left.)

Hi vandage,

I can think in two options
- If you can remove a part of the floor or if the floor is carpet, you can run a wire under the floor and set a floor plug. If you have a basement below, you can wire the plug up from the basement
Of course, check secuity and codes issues . I'd suggest that you check this item in out Electricity forum http://forum.doityourself.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9
- If you are not going to use the lamp continuously, you can choose a battery operated table lamp

If you have access to floor from beneath, wiring can be run and outlets installed by couch for lamps. I once finished a basement and had the contractor make way for wiring in concrete slab and install outlets.
