what would cause each button on the bottom of a horizontal window blind to leave a water spot on my wooden window sell?

somehow water travels down the string or cord and then leaves a water spot right underneath the button of the blind.

it seems to travel down the cord.

do I have leaking above the window that I need to take off the blind to check that out or is it condensation?

anyone have some answers for me and how do you solve or fix the problem?

You might have water entering the wall somewhere on the exterior of the home, (above the window in question) which then leaks into the home once it reaches the window. Leaks like this will commonly appear on top of the window, and drip from the top of the trim. I would guess that maybe your blinds are just a pathway for this water to reach the window stool.
