Hey guys I need help with getting this lock off my door. I can't seem to find a way. Here are some pix of the lock.

The lock is made by schlage.

Those look like set screws on the handles in the pics. If they are, loosen them and slide the handles off. The brass cover plate probably just snaps over the mounting plate underneath, look for tabs or indentations around the edge. Once thats off you'll probably find a mounting plate with screws to the outside handle and deadbolt.

If those aren't setscrews, turn the handle slowly and see if you see a hole line up with that small notch in the lever handle. You'll probably find you need to insert a small punch into the hole to release the handle. Wish you had a closeup pic of the deadbolt inner handle also. They probably are similar.

Don't know whether any of the lock Pro's will be on today or not. Don't break anything..lol..they'd probably recognize it right off.

Alright I got it! Thanks for the help, I stuck a small screw driver into the side of the inside handle and it popped out, then out came the faceplate and the rest was easy, thanks for the help!

Follow up on this, I took everything out, turns out I'm a total noob with locks b/c apparently you have to measure these handle sets and the new one doesn't fit the old one. Yes I'm that stupid!!

Anyhow I have to now either drill in a new hole, or get a new door. The new one is slightly bigger and higher than the old hole, would it be okay to just drill a hole slight higher than the old one, or would you recommend getting a new door, or maybe even a new handle set that might fit in it?

A new hole is certainly an option. A lot depends on how far you are off and how much of the old holes will be covered and how you want it to look. Sometimes the trim on the new lock is enough to cover.

If you cannot find a better lock that you like, you might be able to use a scar plate to help cover the old holes. Don-jo is one manufacturer and these are often available at your local locksmith or hardware stores as well as online.
