Please help. I have some old furniture from my childhood that I have just painted white using a water based latex. I was doing this project in the middle of the night, so I didn't notice some areas where paint was too heavy or dripping. Is there an easy way to fix the drips? My husband says I have to strip it and start over. I would chop it up with an axe and buy new furniture if that is the case. I have sanded the furniture, put on a base coat, and painted twice. I can't stand to start over. Any ideas for an easy fix?:wall:

you could try using a razor blade to trim down the drips, then sand the areas down smooth. after that, touch up or add one more coat to the entire piece. remember, two thin coats is always better than one thick one!

I agree, it is a lot easier to cut off the drips than to sand them off. If cutting and sanding leaves a low spot, apply a little spackling - sand and prime when dry.
