My wife wants me this february to make her a greenhouse nothing fancy just to help her garden make it till May so I was wondering if useing 6 mill clear plastic would work to help her out in her gardening . I know it wont be a permanent fixture as the sun will cause it to become brittle. But to last 3 to 4 months will it work??

Plain old plastic sheeting works great. Most of the commercial greenhouses in our area use it. My problem here in NC is that it can work too well and overheat. I did a search online and bought a couple of the automatic openers used on greenhouse vents. They are about $30 each and I use them to automatically open a panel when the garden gets warm and close in the evening when it cools.
