Like others, I too am not able to make DLS-PC-Link work. Firstly I wish to upload the current panel programming to my PC and then to make changes and download it back to the panel.
I used previous postings on this forum to get as far as I could.

I have connected the PC-Link 4 pin connector to my PC5010 ver 2 panel so that the edge of the mini board covers the white line on the panel board.
I have a Keyspan USB serial adapter USA 19H. This adapter when installed indicated it connected to COM:4 (idle). Window's device manager does report the Keyspan USB as Serial Port COM4.

My software was installed from:
DLS2002 Engine Only Setup.exe
DLS2002 North American Products.exe
DLS2002 SP2 (service pack).exe

I have just updated the DLS software using the web update tool DLS update Add In.exe

DLS reports:
DLS Program Base 2.2.0.34, DLS Shared Library 2.0.0.0260, DLS Engine Library 2.0.0.11647, DLS Access Library 2.0.0.648, DLS Communications Library 2.0.2.2115. etc.

I created a simple account with PC5010 as panel. Modem configuration gives me general configuration= PC-Link..Outgoing is also set to be PC-Link. Outgoing is set tor Communications Port 4. Incoming is blank.

When I click on the account, the screen changes to "Workfile v2.00".
Running the "Error Check" " I am told that Phone #1 and Account Code #1 have not been programmed.
When I click on GLOBAL UPLOAD I am prompted to select "Entire System", PC5010" or "CANCEL". I select PC510.
THEN>>>>
Near the top of the screen it displays "Waiting for Panel to Connect". In the center of the screen is a window "Connection Prompt" with a "Hangup" button.

I then go to the LCD keypad and enter: *8[installers code] [499][installers code] [499], the keypad then indicates downloading.

I never get any indication of a communications session. Screen continues to display: "waiting for a connection".
If I select "entire system" after Global Upload the same things happen.

Any ideas of things to try to get the panel to transfer its settings to the PC?:wall:

First of all, this software is notoriously finicky about USB serial adapters. The one you have may simply not work for this software.

From the trouble shooting guide for this software:

Ensure that the communication port selected in the Modem Configuration window (in the Tools menu item) is a valid COM port on the computer.

Ensure PC-Link connector is positioned correctly on control panel (that the connector is not connected upside-down).

Restart the computer.

Test that the COM port is functioning properly by connecting a different serial device and confirming that it functions properly.

If hardware problems persist, contact your computer supplier to ensure that your computer and COM ports are operating properly.
